Becky Pickard (a.k.a Bea Baptiste) is a self taught mixed media artist with a fever to create. Her process involves collage, transfers, paint layering and drawing. Her works have been described as whimsical, emotional and sometimes, odd. Much of her inspiration comes from old comic books, vintage women's magazines, hymn books, and the reliable hilarity of her two small children. She is fascinated by life itself, and several of her images portray snapshots of women (some are sub-human) in the process of contemplating it.
